United Women In Faith

How UWIF (United Women In Faith)
Started In Ministry

On March 23, 1869, 8 women gathered at Tremont Methodist Episcopal Church in Boston MA and organized the Women’s Foreign Missionary Society.  Those women raised money to send a doctor and a teacher to India as missionaries to reach underserved women. That society grew into the largest denominational organization for women and is now called United Women in Faith.   So many lives have been changed because women have put their faith, hope and love into action.                      Even during the major pandemic problems in 2020 and 2021, the organization was able to raise $9 million for 226 national and international projects and partners.  They support missions in 34 countries: Africa, Asia & Pacific Islands, Europe, Middle East, South America, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean and 121 in the United States.  Jesus instructed us (NIV) Mark 16:15 “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation”.

All women in our church have the opportunity to be a part of this great organization. There are so many ways to be a part of the group: serve as a board member, assist with mission projects & fundraisers, assist in
planning events, praying, putting together information for the newsletter, organizing, leading, serving, speaking and so on…..the opportunities are endless!!

Mission Moment: The United Methodist Women Association in Cameroon uses funds to train and provide supplies to internally displaced women to build, plant and maintain vertical gardens.  Buckeye Clinic in South Sudan is providing maternal and child health care services in rural areas.  Please pray for this missionary work.
